Purple Parrot Media Manager© provides a wide variety of functions for managing media images, videos, audios and DVDs. Features include jukebox, file management, playlists, thumbnails, albums, and slide shows. Special features include an integrated email function, hotkeys, CDDC support for retrieving CD song information from the Internet, an integrated web browser with pop-up ad blocking and browser history cleaning, MP3 "tag" data update capability, an image magnifier, a target game, a sleep timer, and a snooze-option alarm clock that plays music playlists, CDs, or DVDs.

Supported file formats include: jpeg, gif, bitmap, metafile, tiff, pcx, xif, png, mng, icon, cursor, mp3, wav, wma, cd audio, midi, avi, mpeg, wmv, and others.

Also included with Media Manager is a tabbed web browser and a picture painting program, with dozens of effects.

    Media Manager Playlist Features:

    Setting up playlists, for videos or audios, is a simple process using the display shown below:

  • File search to quickly locate media files
  • Flexible methods for addings files
  • Sort files alphabetically or manually arrange their order
  • Option to prevent duplicate files
  • Enter your own playlist names

    Once a playlist has been defined, all you have to do is close the definition window to start your playlist.

  • Several options for the order in which files are played
  • Click on a single file to play it immediately

    Media Manager CD Player Features:

    Media Manager Alarm Clock Features:

  • Wake up to your favorite music, whether it's a single song, a playlist, a music CD, or just a regular alarm sound
  • If your computer is equipped with a DVD player, a movie could rouse you to consciousness
  • Preset on which days you wish to be awakened
  • After the "alarm" sounds, just like a regular alarm clock, you can gain a few more minutes sleep by pressing a "snooze" button

    Agent Installation Instructions:

    If you wish to use the interactive tutorial included with the Purple Parrot Media Manager (recommended), which provides a four-minute overview of the program, you must download and install additional software from Microsoft. If you have any problems with these instructions, please visit the Microsoft Agent Home Page or go directly to the Microsoft Agent Download Page.

    STEP 1: Install Agent Core Components (391KB)
    Download and run the MSAgent.exe setup program to install the core components. You may then delete the setup program. Windows 2000 users may be able to skip this step. The Microsoft Agent Core Components are already installed on Windows 2000.

    STEP 2: Install the Lernout & Hauspie TruVoice, Text-to-Speech Engine (997KB)
    Download and run the TV_Enua.exe setup program to install this component. You may then delete the setup program. The Lernout & Hauspie TruVoice Text-to-Speech (TTS) engine provides speech output capabilities for Microsoft Agent so you can hear what the characters are saying through you sound speakers.

    STEP 3: Install the Microsoft Speech Control Panel (927KB)
    Download and run the SpchCpl.exe setup program to install this component. You may then delete the setup program. The Speech Control Panel will add an icon to your Control Panel to enable you to list the compatible speech recognition and text-to-speech engines installed on your system and customize their settings for your use.

    STEP 4: Install the Merlin Agent Character (1.78MB)
    Download and run the Merlin.exe setup program to install this component. You may then delete the setup program. Once the Merlin Agent character has been installed, there should be a Merlin.acs file in your C:\WINDOWS\MSAGENT\CHARS or C:\WINNT\MSAGENT\CHARS folder, depending upon your operating system.

    STEP 5: Install SAPI 4.0 Runtime Support (824KB) -- Windows XP users ONLY
    Download and run the Spchapi.exe setup program to install this component. You may then delete the setup program. Remember that you ONLY download and install this component if your operating system is Windows XP.

    Viewer for Microsoft Word Documents

    The Media Manager user manual is saved in Microsoft Word format. If you do not have Word installed on your computer, you can install a free viewer program from Microsoft which will still allow you to read our manual.

    Download and run the wd97vwr32.exe setup program (3.76MB) to install this component.
